This is Chapter 11 in Zinc’s series of mixes called ‘Trust Me I Was There – this one is pt 3 from 1991 and again features a slice of the kind of tunes that was catching the ears of Zinc in the clubs and venues that he and thousands of us were raving our little sweaty socks off to.

In ’91 the music was morphing from the previous housier/US sound to a more UK vibe, with baselines and breakbeats shaping the sound. As a punter/dj back then, Zinc had really liked the earlier music in these mixes, but from this point he felt like he was part of a scene that was largely people like him, in areas like where he lived and roamed – Zinc was well and truly hooked!
